How To Like Yourself

The relationship with yourself is the only relationship guaranteed to last a lifetime. Yet, for many of us, it's a toxic one. The Inner Critic relentlessly points out every mistake, highlights perceived flaws in appearance, and clips your wings. Liking yourself isn't narcissism; it's a prerequisite for mental health.

Get to Know Your Inner Critic

That voice in your head that says: "You're too fat," "You messed up again," "No one will ever love you" – that's not you. It's a collection of remarks you heard in childhood from parents, teachers, or peers. The first step is to separate yourself from that voice. Give it a name (e.g., Grumpy). When it starts talking, say: "Oh, Grumpy is complaining again."

Gratitude Journal for Yourself

In the Corty app, we encourage a specific form of gratitude. Instead of writing "thank you for coffee," write "thank you to myself for taking care of my rest." Record your small successes. The Journal module allows you to review these entries on bad days, reminding you how much value you bring to the world.
