Most of us deal with emotions in two ways: suppression ("nothing happened") or expression (shouting, crying). There is a third way: letting go. Popularized by David Hawkins (author of "The Letting Go Technique"), this method teaches how to allow emotions to resonate and pass, rather than suppressing them.
How Does It Work?
An emotion is energy in motion. If you don't block it with resistance ("I don't want to feel this"), it will naturally flow through the body and disappear within about 90 seconds. Suffering comes from resistance, not from the emotion itself.
