Anger is a powerful emotion. It can be constructive (when it motivates change in an unfair situation) or destructive (when it explodes, damaging relationships). Most of us don't know how to handle it: we either suppress it (leading to psychosomatic illnesses) or explode. The art of dealing with anger is the ability to transform this energy into something useful.
Physiology of Anger: Why Do You Get Heated?
When you feel anger, your brain (specifically the hypothalamus) activates the sympathetic nervous system. It releases adrenaline and noradrenaline. Your heart rate increases, muscles tense, blood rushes to the limbs (preparation for fight). If there is no physical "fight," this energy remains in the body, ready to explode.
