Did you know your heart has its own "brain"? It's a network of about 40,000 neurons that communicates with the brain in your head. When you're stressed, your heart rhythm is chaotic. When you're calm, the rhythm is smooth and harmonious. This state is called heart coherence and it's the key to calmness.
HRV: A Measure of Your Resilience
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is a measure of the time intervals between successive heartbeats. High HRV means your nervous system is flexible and can quickly respond to stress, then return to calmness. Low HRV is associated with chronic stress, anxiety, and heart disease.
